Not all employees at CHK have laptops they can take home. Many just have desktops at work. Chesapeake’s internal intranet for the most part can only be accessed from a work computer or our company phone, but the phone doesn’t have a good interface for it. Creating a user-friendly app would allow all employees to access important parts of their intranet 24/7. With MyChesapeake, employees could quickly access information such as historical paycheck information, vacation hours, health plans they have signed up for, and most importantly be able to submit expense reports while on the go. Since most all of these fall under the Human Relations spectrum in some form or fashion, this could also help to create less work for that department, thus doing more with less people.
